Our client in real estate investment, development and property management is searching for an energetic, solution-focused, and collaborative Accounting Manager who is excited to partner with the Property Management team to create more efficient solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIESResponsible for overall property accounting and financial reporting, including annual financial statement audits for multi-family and commercial properties.
Structure, lead and manage the Property Accounting departments to meet its goals and responsibilities.
Manage the full cycle monthly accounting and reporting processes for our diverse portfolio of residential, commercial and development propertiesSupport the Vice President of Property Management with the month-end close and the investor reporting process for the company-wide portfolio.
Extensive knowledge in the recoding of financial transactions including the purchase, sale and refinancing of real estate and leasehold assets.
Establish schedules and manage the reconciliations of company bank accounts and intercompany financial statements.
Work with and provide to our corporate and third-party accountants timely information and documents for questions concerning financial statements, tax returns, K-1s, 1099s and audits.
Responsible for evaluation of internal financial controls.
Establish, monitor and enforce policies, systems, and proceduresProtect assets by establishing, monitoring and enforcing internal controls.
Collaborate with other department leaders to develop and execute corporate strategies.
Review monthly/quarterly/annual reports due to owners, investors, and other outside groups.
Assist owners and operations personnel with comprehension of financial statements.
Prepare compliance responses on behalf of owners to government agencies and financial institutions.
Supervise the transition of property accounting records when required.
Ensure all funds received each day are recorded in the financial records and deposited into the respective bank accounts.
Provide training to new and existing staff, as needed, to include the handling of non-routine financial transactions.
Work with direct reports to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor their progress to enhance professional development of staff.
Review and approve monthly management fee calculations.
Other assignments/projects as needed.
QUALIFICATIONSBA/BS in Accounting or Business with an emphasis in Accounting8
years of accounting experience with progressive responsibility in the multi-family and commercial real estate operating and development industryKnowledge of financials, government regulations, and local and state statutesHigh level of proficiency with Yardi and NexusDemonstrated leadership and management experience focused on mentorship and coaching as well as learning and developmentMust be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands and meet company deadlines.
Must work well with minimum supervision and directionMust possess keen attention to detail, excellent record keeping and organization skillsStrong verbal and written communication skillsDemonstrated high levels of proactivity, accountability, and flexibilityExhibit initiative with focus on continuous improvement.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
